Let me tell you that in kids soccer drills, there are certain blunders that coaches make which reduce their teams to rubble and bring it down. Yes, it is true. A good number of you might be wondering what on earth could be so big to get the team on a losing track. Well, let it be known that there are many.

To take steps pertaining to soccer drills for kids, be very alert and calculative. You need to understand the psychology of the kids. Exchange words with them discussing things from their point of view. But sadly, most coaches are not ready to adapt to this. They fail to realize that there is a distinction in coaching kids and coaching grown-up players.

Here you go; main errors that coaches make that result in a team’s downfall.

1. Several coaches don’t take their jobs seriously. They are not punctual, fail to organize the drills, and don’t think it’s important to plan the sessions. Activities like these not merely put off the kids but are also terrible. You cannot be non-serious when the kids take soccer so seriously. Youth soccer drills should be pre-planned. Arrange for various equipments needed to perform the drills before-hand.

Be on time. Do not come to the field after kids. Actually, be there when the kids get there. What you get here is the additional time to run through the drills or plan out things.

2. When the coaches are instructing before the kids soccer drills, it is normal for them to take a long time. Can you anticipate how boring that can get? Know that kids come to the field to play and not listen to boring speeches. Keep the lecture short and sweet. Use this talk to motivate the kids and increase their confidence.

Also, do not interrupt the kids when they are playing. If the kids do anything incorrectly, make a note of it and share it afterwards. Also, stay out of the field when the kids are practicing.

3. Some coaches use harsh and offensive language with the kids. In soccer drills for youth, both the characters can prove disastrous. It may prove counter productive to show your emotions on the field. It is natural for the kids to make errors on the field. Always remember that they are young. You do not need to take this to heart and get harsh with the players.

When this happens, you are making the kids loose interest and also making things difficult for yourself. Soccer is a game of the intelligent. Help the kids understand this so that they get inspired by you.

There is a huge difference in the techniques adopted in kids soccer drills to train kids in comparison to those who are in high school or college. Because the kids are exposed to everything for the first time and young players, on the other hand young players have experienced this many times before.

But, there are certain methods that can be used in soccer drills for kids which will help them become exceptional soccer players. It’s a known fact that kids ought to have lots and lots of fun in the game, in order to make them love the game. The moment this interest is lost, it becomes a burden for them. Kids try to find ways to disintegrate with the sport. So persevere and don’t push them too hard initially.

There are kids that play purely out of their choice and there are still others who do it for their parents wish. Praise and recognition does not fascinate kids in either of the case. Most of the coaches fail to take this aspect into consideration. They get on to the kids nerves to attain the performance targets like their physical capacity and skills. It directly affects the kids and their confidence is shaken in the game.

In planning soccer drills for kids, it’s normal for a new coach to feel somewhat troubled initially. The reason could the indiscipline of the players in the game. But, don’t fret. The kids will surely realize the meaning of regularity and team-work, no matter how much time it takes. They will also realize that in order to get respect they will first have to respect other team members including their coach.

Here, it is crucial that kids in youth soccer drills are acquainted with new regulations. This is because of the fact that they may not be aware of them and take time to learn them. Also, before you start something new, take the opinion of the kids well in advance. This allows the kids to understand the system and accept the changes willfully.

In the capacity of a coach, it is important that you imbibe certain values in the kids. To achieve this, measure the performance of the boys individually. You should make sure that all boys spend ample time on the ground and that you praise them wherever due. Along with this, it’s of equal importance that those who fail to comply with the stated rules are adequately punished.
This makes the kids feel answerable for what they do.

Yet, be careful in doing so. Do not be abusive with the kid. He should not be ignored or made fun of. For instance you can reprimand the individual by a light penalty such as keeping him off a single session.
